Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, October 26-October 30

 
Burke

Black Knight has announced that Catherine (Katie) L. Burke, currently chief strategy officer at Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, has been elected to serve on the company’s board of directors. Burke has been chief strategy officer at Edelman since January 2019. Additionally, she is the head of the Practices, Sectors and Intellectual Property division at Edelman and is a member of Edelman’s executive and operations committees. Since 2008, she has served in a variety of executive roles at Edelman, including global chair of public affairs and global chief of staff. She previously served as executive vice president of marketing and communications at Nielsen Holdings.

 
Johnson

NewRez has announced that Bob Johnson, formerly the company’s executive vice president of capital markets, has been promoted to chief operating officer of its Origination Division effective immediately. He will continue to lead capital markets in addition to overseeing loan setup, loan processing, underwriting, loan closing, funding, post-closing, risk management and ancillary businesses in his role as COO. He has worked in the mortgage industry for over 20 years; prior to joining NewRez in 2012, he held various leadership positions at American Home Mortgage. He started his mortgage career at ComNet Mortgage Services.

 
Hassen

Agents National Title Insurance Company (ANTIC), part of the Incenter family of companies, announced that Dan Hassen has joined the firm as national agency manager. Hassen is responsible for assisting with all phases of agency operations to help ANTIC grow its national presence. Based in Houston, Hassen is a longstanding title industry executive, and previously served as president of the Texas subsidiary of a large national title agency.

 
Gibler

Brennan Investment Group has announced that Scott Gibler has joined the company as executive director of Corporate Real Estate Solutions (CRES). Gibler will be responsible for assisting corporations in improving their supply chains by acquiring surplus land and buildings, originating both long and short-term leasebacks, and offering customized build-to-suits. Gibler brings over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate in both acquisitions and asset management. Before joining Brennan Investment Group, he was chief investment officer for a private investment group in Denver. Previously, he was managing director of Broe Real Estate Group and managing director of Amstar Group.

Mays

US Real Estate Services (USRES) announced that Garrett Mays has been promoted to vice president of valuations and vendor management. Mays oversees the daily operations of the Valuation Department and manages the company’s business partner networks. He joined the company more than 12 years ago and has held numerous positions with varying responsibilities.

 
Byrnes

Nationwide Title Clearing (NTC) has announced that Danny Byrnes has been promoted from vice president of sales and marketing to chief revenue officer. Byrnes, who has 35 years of experience in sales, marketing and product management, was hired by NTC in early 2011 as vice president of sales.

 
Hansen

All Credit Considered Mortgage (ACC) has announced that Bryan Cross and Joel Hansen have joined the company as regional sales managers for its Wholesale Division. Each brings over 20 years of mortgage industry to ACC. Prior to joining the team, Cross was vice president and national sales manager for Capital Alliance. He has held prior leadership roles at Orion Lending, New Penn Financial and First Guaranty Mortgage Corp. He received his MBA from Columbia Business School. Joel Hansen most recently held the position of vice president of sales for Southern California at E Mortgage Management. He has also held multiple wholesale and retail loan origination leadership roles with various lenders. He received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Northwood University.
