Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, October 12-October 16


Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. (PRMI) has announced the newest addition to its executive leadership team: Lorin Knudson, who has accepted the role of senior vice president of servicing. Knudson is a veteran of the company, serving as a loan officer for PRMI before he took the lead of its Loan Servicing department over eight years ago. In addition to Knudson’s promotion, Jessica Rackham has moved into the role of vice president of quality assurance, Alyssa North has taken over as the vice president of operations and Alicia Irwin has moved into the role of director of closing operations.

Interfirst Mortgage Company has announced that Karen Gerli has rejoined the company as chief operating officer. In her new and expanded role, Gerli is responsible for wholesale and retail operations, with additional oversight of four divisional areas: Credit Risk, Counterparty Risk, Training and Human Resources. She brings 35 years of experience in mortgage lending, with senior credit oversight roles at multiple banking institutions, most recently as senior vice president of operations at Angel Oak Prime Bridge and COO at Ethos Lending. Previously, Gerli served as COO of Interfirst from 2008 to 2017.


Equity Prime Mortgage (EPM) has announced that Suha Zehl has joined the team in the new role of chief analytics officer. She brings more than 18 years of experience in the mortgage and real estate industry and over 34 years of global business and analytics experience. Prior to joining EPM, she served as chief information officer at Guidance Residential and also held leadership roles at Long & Foster Companies and Z Technology Solutions. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the University of Phoenix. The company has also added Paul Ervin as wholesale underwriting manager. Ervin will be responsible for working with his team and industry partners to assist in the growth of the division and the company as a whole, as well as general management responsibilities. He comes to EPM with 24 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Ervin, an Army veteran, graduated from Oklahoma University.


MGIC Investment Corporation announced that Annette M. Adams has joined the company as senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Prior to joining MGIC, Adams was senior vice president, human resources – Centers of Expertise of Kohl’s, as well as holding various management positions within Kohl’s human resources team. Before joining Kohl’s, she also held various leadership roles at Wisconsin Health Fund. She received her bachelor of business administration in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and her executive MBA from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Avanze Group has announced that it has hired Auvese Pasha as president and CEO of its technology unit, Avanze Tech Labs. Pasha will be responsible for overseeing all operations, technology and software development, and implementation of sales strategies that will continue the company on its growth path. Pasha most recently served as the chief operating officer at Sourcepoint.


The Amherst Group has announced the appointment of Gillian Sutton Cho as chief operating officer of investment management. Cho joins Amherst from Crow Holdings where she served as chief operating officer. She will be responsible for all investor-facing services and operations, for growing assets under management for all Amherst strategies, and for growing Amherst’s commercial real estate lending and mortgage-backed securities businesses. Prior to joining Amherst, Cho was COO of Crow Holdings; before that, she spent a decade in multifamily and mixed-use development in the Bay Area at Trammell Crow Residential and in New York at Extell Development Company.


Aaron Wessner has joined Hamilton Zanze Real Estate Investments (HZ) as a managing director. Based in New York, he will lead HZ’s East Coast presence by coordinating acquisitions, dispositions and client relationships in the eastern United States. His background includes over 20 years of institutional commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining HZ, he was a managing director with New York-based Cantor Fitzgerald; before that, he worked within Merrill Lynch’s Real Estate Capital Markets group as well within the commercial mortgage-backed securities groups of Fitch Ratings and Ernst & Young. He received his MBA from the University of Florida and his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Miami. 


Pacific Program Management has announced the addition of its first advisory board. In addition to CEO Clark Lindsay and COO Don Schulz, the board consists of three additional members: Craig Robinson, who most recently led the Powered By We business unit at WeWork; Ed McGovern, managing director of capital markets for Security Properties; and Jean Brittingham, co-founder of New Legends Now.
