Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, May 30-June 3

Waterstone Mortgage welcomed Paul Garrigues as its new chief financial officer. In his role as CFO, he will serve as liaison for WaterStone Bank, oversee all corporate accounting functions and provide financial direction for branches nationwide. Garrigues has more than 40 years of accounting experience, most recently as CFO for a mortgage banker in Oakbrook, Illinois, and with a credit union in Yakima, Washington. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and completed master’s-level coursework in international finance at San Diego State University.

JLL Capital Markets announced the hiring of director Leif Olsen to its affordable-housing production team. Olsen, based in the company’s Denver office, will focus on originating debt and providing capital-market solutions to sponsors both locally and nationally. He joined JLL after nearly six years as assistant vice president of affordable originations with Lument Capital, formerly known as Hunt Real Estate Capital. Prior to this role, he served as Federal Housing Administration senior underwriting analyst with Walker & Dunlop. Olsen attended Williams College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in American studies.

Zoned Properties announced the appointment of Daniel Gauthier as chief legal officer. Gauthier will serve in multiple related roles for Zoned Properties, including chief compliance officer and corporate secretary. Prior to joining Zoned Properties, Gauthier was an attorney at Rose Law Group PC. He received a J.D. from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona.

Floify added Sofia Rossato as president and general manager, and Dan Goldman as vice president of sales. Rossato, previously the CEO at SnapEngage, brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to Floify. Goldman, meanwhile, was the senior vice president of sales at First Integrity Mortgage Services and has more than 20 years of executive sales experience. Prior to SnapEngage, Rossato was chief operating officer of the information division at Markit. Rossato also held senior leadership roles at Wall Street On Demand. Prior to his tenure at First Integrity Mortgage Services, Goldman was the national sales leader and interim CEO of the Lenders One Mortgage Cooperative. Additionally, Goldman held leadership roles at Pacific Union Financial, Metlife Home Loans, Aurora Loan Services/Lehman Brothers, and similar companies in the mortgage and housing industries. Goldman holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from National Louis University.

iEmergent announced the appointment of Chris Richey as chief analytics officer. In this role, Richey will oversee and expand upon iEmergent’s data analytics capabilities, which help mortgage lenders identify gaps in sales coverage and effectively expand into new markets. Richey, who first joined iEmergent in a consulting capacity in 2016, was previously a data analyst in the IT business unit of a Fortune 100 government contractor. He is a graduate of Iowa State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and math along with a master’s degree in economics.

Sales Boomerang announced the hiring of Cheryl Messner to manage its customer experience departments as executive vice president of customer success. In her new role, Messner will define strategies to enhance Sales Boomerang’s customer experience, engagement and operations. She joins Sales Boomerang following 15 years at Optimal Blue, and prior to that, Messner worked for three years in sales at GE-owned WMC Mortgage.
