Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, April 5-April 8

Walker & Dunlop has hired Suzanne Jones as a senior director in its Agency financing group, which focuses on the nationwide origination of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily loans. Based out of the company’s Dallas office, Ms. Jones brings over 25 years of commercial real estate finance experience to Walker & Dunlop. Prior to joining the firm, she served as senior vice president with NorthMarq’s Debt and Equity Financing group.

Mr. Cooper Group has announced that Kurt Johnson, who has been with the company for five years and most recently served as the company’s chief credit officer, will now also lead risk and compliance for the organization as executive vice president and chief risk and compliance officer. Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, including six years as executive vice president at OneWest Bank. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Occidental College and a master’s degree in business administration from Cornell University.

Embrace Home Loans has named Jason Will senior vice president of market growth, a newly-created role at the company. He will be responsible for helping to increase the company’s market share, expanding its affiliate partnerships and establishing a team of regionally based vice presidents of market growth to drive the company’s overall expansion strategy. He brings more than 20 years of mortgage lending experience, primarily with Wells Fargo where he most recently served as vice president, national builder manager.

BSI Financial Services has announced that Michael Bugbee has been hired as vice president of client success, where he will lead the company’s broader strategy to better align the its focus with the expanding needs of BSI’s primary and specialty servicer client base. With nearly 20 years of experience, Bugbee worked for more than a decade at Mr. Cooper/Nationstar Mortgage, where he held a variety of roles. Before that, he worked for over seven years at Freddie Mac as a portfolio manager.

American Homeowner Preservation announced the promotion of Tim Gillis to chief revenue officer. Gillis will be responsible for driving revenue growth by leveraging and aligning all revenue-generating departments to execute the company strategy and achieve revenue goals. He brings 25 years of lending and service experience to his new role; before his promotion, he was president of AHP Servicing.

Mortgage Connect LP has named Ian Morgan as chief information security officer. He has more than 24 years’ experience in information technology, most recently at Covius Holdings, where he served as chief information security officer. He has a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a master of science degree in information technology management with a cybersecurity specialty from Colorado State University.

DLP Real Estate Capital has hired Brian Sheehan as senior vice president of risk and credit officer. He has more than 30 years of banking, credit, asset management and operational experiences, most recently heading the Credit Risk Management department at Arbor Realty Trust. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading and ensuring best practices are utilized by the lending team in Underwriting, Risk Management, Technology and Systems, new loan products, and facilitating long term strategic plans. He has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Rutgers University and attended Cardean University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.
