Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, April 10-14

Cenlar FSB announced that Marlon Groen has joined the company as chief compliance officer, while Jennifer Rowen, who formerly served as chief compliance officer, has been promoted to senior vice president of core operations. Groen, who has more than 20 years of experience in mortgage lending and servicing, will be responsible for building on Cenlar’s compliance management system to ensure the company meets all regulatory requirements. Prior to joining Cenlar, he was chief risk and compliance officer for AHP Servicing. He also worked at PHH for 11 years, where he most recently served as senior vice president and chief compliance officer. He also served as vice president and senior counsel at Sovereign Bank, and as vice president, senior counsel and chief compliance officer at Arlington Capital Mortgage Corp. He holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. Rowen brings more than 24 years of banking experience to her new role, in which she is responsible for the oversight of investor reporting, bank operations, payoffs, satisfactions, insurance, escrow, tax and transfer operations. Before joining Cenlar in 2016, she was a vice president and compliance officer at The Bryn Mawr Trust Co., and a compliance officer at Continental Bank.

Ruoff Mortgage announced Blake Music as the company’s new president. He is a graduate of Indiana University and joined Ruoff Mortgage in 2013 as a member of the retail sales team.

Merchants Bank of Indiana announced the hiring of Brian Konwar as a senior business development officer in the Small Business Administration (SBA) lending division. He will join the Merchants team located in Houston. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in business banking to Merchants’ SBA lending team. Prior to joining Merchants, Konwar worked in a similar role as an SBA business development officer for Wells Fargo in Houston. At Merchants, Konwar will be tasked with originating SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, as well as crafting strategies to generate new business, among other responsibilities. Konwar is a graduate of the University of Houston, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and computer information systems.

WFG National Title Insurance Co. (WFG) appointed David Jenkins as senior vice president and national agency manager, and promoted Tim Hooper to senior vice president and Mid-Atlantic regional manager for the company’s agency operations. Jenkins is returning to WFG, where he previously served as senior national agency underwriting counsel from 2017 to 2020. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for supporting WFG’s agents, driving expansion for both new and existing national and regional agents, and leveraging the extensive resources WFG makes available to its agents to help them increase their market share. In his expanded role within WFG’s agency operations, Hooper will be responsible for recruiting top talent and for enhancing and implementing systems, processes and sales solutions in support of WFG’s agent partners.

Mortgage fintech Polly announced that Parvesh Sahi has joined the company as chief revenue officer. As CRO, Sahi will be involved in all aspects of go-to-market activity, playing a role in corporate strategy, business development, sales, account management and the continued evolution of Polly’s partner ecosystem. Sahi joins Polly from ICE Mortgage Technology, where he spent the past 11 years in various executive roles leading sales, strategy, client management and business development teams across the Ellie Mae, MERS and Simplifile brands.
