Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, February 1-February 5

 
Brickman

Meridian Capital Group and Barings have announced a new partnership, creating a joint venture lending platform helmed by David Brickman as CEO. Brickman will also assume the role of executive chairman of Meridian and senior advisor to Stone Point Capital LLC. Brickman spent 21 years at Freddie Mac, working in and leading the multifamily business before ascending to CEO in 2018.

 
Tripathi

Home Diversification Corp has introduced Shailendra Tripathi as global president. Tripathi joined HDC in November 2020 as managing director.

 
Rice

Guaranteed Rate has named Shaughnessy Rice as a vice president of mortgage lending based in Champaign, Illinois. Rice joins Guaranteed Rate with 24 years of mortgage lending experience, including roles at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation, PrimeLending, Midland States Bank and Summit First Financial. He received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration and management at Assumption College.

 
Friedman

Angel Oak Commercial Lending has welcomed two new hires: Daniel Friedman as senior vice president and Gavin Pohlhaus as underwriting analyst. Friedman joins Angel Oak in its New York office and will primarily be responsible for sourcing and structuring debt investments for the Angel Oak Commercial Real Estate Strategies group of investment funds. He brings to his new position more than 14 years of experience in commercial real estate lending. Most recently, Friedman served as vice president at C-III Capital Partners. Pohlhaus will work from Angel Oak’s headquarters in Atlanta.

Warren

InterLinc Mortgage has announced that Melody Warren has joined their leadership team as director of marketing. Most recently, she served as marketing director for Envoy Mortgage. She graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor of science degree in business marketing.

 
Jans

Red Oak Financial has added Nick Jans as regional manager, based in Texas. He will hold responsibility for originating and processing commercial real estate bridge loans on income producing property across several asset classes. Jans contributes more than 36 years of industry experience, most recently as Southwest regional director for Money360. Prior to that, Jans served in leadership positions at Willow Bend Commercial Capital, New York Life Investment Management, and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Saint Louis University.

 
Torp

Brennan Investment Group has announced that John Torp has joined the company as vice president in the Denver office. Torp will be part of Brennan’s ongoing efforts to grow its portfolio in Colorado, as well as other markets within the region. He will also oversee all leasing and construction on properties and developments currently owned by Brennan in Colorado. Before joining Brennan Investment Group, Torp was vice president at Stream Realty Partners in its Denver office. Previously, he was also a member of the Capital Group at Newmark Knight Frank.

Atlantic Home Mortgage has announced Michael Matheny has joined the company’s Alpharetta, Georgia, branch as a mortgage loan officer. Matheny has more than 20 years of experience in sales, including the past four years in the staffing industry where his background was in corporate accounting, finance and mortgages.
