Notable mortgage industry hires and promotions, Nov. 8-12

Amrock announced that Nicole Beattie, who is currently serving as executive vice president of mortgage servicing for sister company Rocket Mortgage, will assume the role of CEO beginning Nov. 19. Beattie will step into the CEO role after nearly 18 years with Rocket Companies, the last four of which have been spent leading Rocket Mortgage’s servicing team.

Sagent added Mikhail Cook as executive vice president of strategic sales. He will focus on growing relationships with major financial institutions.

Open Mortgage appointed Adam O’Daniel as senior vice president of marketing. In addition to leading customer relationship management and market research initiatives, O’Daniel will oversee brand strategy, paid advertising, social media, email marketing, product marketing, media relations and communications. He has 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, content strategy, financial journalism, writing and editing. Prior to joining Open Mortgage, he served as director of marketing and communications at Movement Mortgage. O’Daniel graduated from Winthrop University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication.

Spruce announced the appointment of Brian Kielian as the company’s first head of customer experience and Blair Drake as the company’s first head of service delivery. Kielian will drive Spruce’s customer service initiatives, working to ensure continuous operational efficiency and increased scalability. He brings to Spruce an extensive background in customer experience, having held the position of vice president of global customers support and operations planning at PayPal for nearly eight years. He was also vice president of customer operations at Affirm, and most recently, was senior vice president of customer support at Inflection. Drake will work to further streamline procedures, helping to scale the business via automation, technology enhancements and increased process efficiency. She has held positions at a number of fintech companies, most recently as the head of operations at OnDeck.

Promontory MortgagePath announced the promotion of Dean McCall from managing director of development operations and data to chief information officer. As CIO, McCall will affect broad decisionmaking beyond technology and into strategic positioning of Promontory MortgagePath’s client service model and other company initiatives. Prior to joining the organization in 2015, McCall worked in engineering, technology consultation and warehouse architecture with Oracle, Aurora Loan Services and Redwood Trust.

UMortgage announced the expansion of its team to include Matt The Mortgage Guy, a full-service mortgage brokerage based in Sacramento and operated by Matt Gougé, to its corporate portfolio. Gougé is an eight-year mortgage veteran who has built a strong social media presence that educates consumers on housing-related financial literacy.

Flagstar Bank named Michael Adler as executive vice president and head of wholesale banking, including commercial real estate. Adler brings more than 30 years of experience to Flagstar, including the past 11 years with BBVA USA (now PNC Bank). For the past five years he served as BBVA’s head of corporate banking and capital markets, and as a member of the management committee. He started his career at Bank of America in middle-market lending, and he previously held leadership positions at GE Capital, Fleet Bank, Goldman Sachs and other financial institutions.
